ABOUT OUR FILM…

For Old Times’ Sake is an ambitious new project from Director and Sacramento native Kyle Miller. The short film, of the same title, was produced in Spring 2025 for its debut at the J Street Film Festival. Following it’s festival run, production will begin in the fall on the feature-length adaptation, the first-ever feature film to be shot in Orangevale, California. It’s a coming of age film, four years in the making, that blends experimental form and genre.

The film follows a group of young men growing up in suburban Orangevale, forced to deal with their best friend’s sudden passing. After discovering a VHS tape with the label “The Magic Time Machine!” they are sent on a haunting journey through space and time to confront all of their greatest fears. It’s a highly personal film, with themes of adolescence, loss, and of course time. It deals with tough subjects highly relevant to young adults, using the story-telling and aesthetics of an 80’s action-adventure film.
